Spain (South) - 30 July to 7 August 2009

I havent had the internet for about a week and a half, so blogging has been impossible. But here it is... finally!

Spain

Spain was probably my favourite place since Croatia. Its bright, beautiful, clean and interesting. Theres so much to see and do and the Spanish have an amazing street art scene, archicticture and beaches.

Barcelona

Barcelona was awsome, the main strip is called Las Rambles, and is ram jam with street performers that will blow your freaking mind! The one that i remembe the most, was a guy dressed as the Alien from Aliens, it was SO realistic that it was kinda freaky. Off the main strip is the most amazing market i have ever been into. The colours inside the market were so bright and vibrant and the atmosphere was electric. It was alive with people buying there fruit and veg, fresh meats, seafood , lollies and fruit juices. There were people eating at little eateries all along the rows of people selling there produce and the look on some peoples faces when they were eating flat out made me hungry as a mother bitch!

Off the main street there weres heaps of little alley ways trailing off it leading to boutique shops. Little retailers that sold everything from 2nd hand vintage clothing to skate clothing to high end brand names. There was also a sex musuem, of which we didnt get chance to go into :(

Mallorca

The main islands that people head to off the coast of Spain are Mallorca, the smaller island of Manorca to Mallorca's North and the one and only Ibiza.

Mallorca is were all the poms flock to so we made sure to not stay in the capital of Palma to try and avoid the crowds as much as we could! haha We hired a car for a few days and drove around the island looking for nice remote beaches to kick it and soak up the sun, little did we know that EVERY SINGLE BEACH, no matter how remote, was full of people. Not even full of poms, it was full of Germans!! Germans everywhere, im talking 10:1 Germans to other nationalities, i dont even think there were as many Spanish as there were Germans, it was insane.

In saying that tho, the beaches were still unreal and the water was incredbily clear and warm and full of sea life! The most disapointing and distressing thing we saw was the amount of disrespect for the ocean and the coastline. We stood at the top of this hill looking over this one particular bay and counted 26 plastic bags floating in the bay. When we went snorkling, there were plastic bags lining the bottom of the ocean in the bays. It was disgusting. So disrespectful by the holiday makers and so shit by the Spanish government to not be cleaning that shit up!

Vellencia

We stayed in a cool hostel in Vellencia, probably the best we have stayed in so far and wasnt the most expensive either. There were 3 of these Hostels in Vellencia, all run by the same company. Pink Nest, Purple Nest and Red Nest. We stayed in Purple Nest. The walls were graffitied differently in every room and all the hallways were graffitied to. There was free wifi internet, a common area with pool table and a sweet bar area. Dopeness!

The main thing that i loved about Vallencia was there Science and Technology Park, the architcture was off the chain, it was like being in a Sci-Fi movie!

Anyways, that was probably the worst blog so far, mainly because i left it so long and the enthusiasm to write it was gone. Next blog will be all about the madness that is set to take place in 7 days when the crew rocks up. 11 friends, tearing up Europe.... ohhhhh sheeeiitttttt!

PEACE!

France (South) - 24 to 30 July 2009

France (south)
Coastal Glam'whore

After the slight let down from my high expectations of Italy we went to France, a place where I really didn’t have any expectations at all. We came in through Morocco (the smallest country in the world if you didn’t already know) and arrived at our first stop, Nice! (No that isn’t a typo for all you unworldly wordsmiths, its pronounced Niece)

We didn’t book any accommodation for Nice and had to find a net cafe to find some accommodation. Nice was another quite expensive place to stay and we ended up going well over our budget for the 3 nights, which sucked ass because it meant skimming on food and fun. :(
Nice was a really nice place (heavily excuse the cheesy pun), it had a big ass tram line running down the main city centre, was very clean and vibrant and had a nice coast line.

We used Nice as a base to go see Cannes which was about an hour and a half train ride away. Cannes is home to the Cannes International Film Festival and is pricayyyyyyyyyy!!! Cannes was really nice, and if you’re female and want to do some mid to high-end clothes shopping, this seems the place for it!

We also went to a place called Phoenix park, which ended up being like a mini zoo that was unfortunately in revamp mode, so most the exhibits were off limits and the "Australia" section was a disgrace to our country hahaha.

Because of the expense of our accommodation we were eating 70 cent bullshit canned meals for 2 nights as our main meal... well I was, Suzie was eating cheese crackers. So on the last night, I was heavily over it and needed a sit down meal, so we found somewhere semi affordable and I ended up having the local speciality, fish stew. Which was offfff theeee chaaiiiiinnnnnn!!!!!!! So good!

We had to get a train to Barcelona and it got delayed by 3 hours because a train broke down blocking all these other trains (This was our 3rd delay using the French rail system of more than 2 hours, the first 2 were because of people topping themselves on the tracks). But in France when they something is delayed, they get straight down to the point....

Italy (North) - 17 to 24 July 2009

Italy (North)
Rome, Florence, Pisa

Well, I was expecting so much from Italy and was really excited to be going there again after over indulging so heavily in Bari on Italian cuisines when we stopped there to get a ferry to Croatia 3-4 weeks ago. But, unfortunately, I didn’t find the pats of Italy we did to be that great. Especially, the shit hole that is, Pisa.

It sucks, because originally we had planned to do the South of Italy and work our way up to Bari to get our ferry, but time wasn’t on our side, so we had to miss it all together. I feel so heavily jipped on having my potential weight gain taken away from me. *hugs an empty pizza box*

If you dont see what that image is getting at, thats a photo of 88cent 500ml long knecks of Nastro Azzurro. You get Peroni, which is in a red bottle which is the low end version of the white and blue labeled Nastro Azzurro. Thats right, $1.60AU for a long neck of premium beer!

Rome
It has a Coliseum

What can I say about Rome? Well, it has a Coliseum. Some ancient Roman ruins. A giant fountain. Bulk Asians and Indians. Ummm. From what I saw, that’s about it.

So many people have said to me how much they loved Rome, but what I saw didn’t make me feel that way. I think we missed out on seeing the true room, away from the sights and the tourists because we didn’t venture to far out from where we were staying, which was actually a block from the Coliseum. The biggest mistake we have been making so far is not using the City Sight Seeing buses that frequent most cities. They seem to be the best way to see all sides of a place like Rome for instance, but, they do kill a day’s budget. So it’s see the city, or have money to see the sights or eat well. The choices!

Florence
Peace, Tranquility, 20 thousand tourists

I liked Florence, it was so nice and peaceful and you would never know that there were 20,000 tourists right around the corner from where you were sitting quietly having a Gelati. And while we are on the subject, we tracked down "the best Gelati in Italy" as said by someone on the InTErNetZ and it was off the chain, i had Fantasia or something, mainly because it looked the weirdest and it blew my frickin mind!

We spent a day just scoping out the town and seeing the sights of the place and another day going the oppisite direction to where the travel sights and lonely planet told us to go, to try and find the REAL Florence.

One thing Italy does have alot of, as with Greece, is graffit. But one thing that is a little different in Italy, is the amount of stenciling on walls. Lots of little stencils and some big ones, of characters, or stencils sending a message. I think you can figure out what message this little guy was sending hahaha

Oh and this was a display in the front door of a butcher shop. I saw it, pointed it out to Suzie, then when we got closer to look at it, we realised how truly fuckin freaky it was. 4 real dead stuffed pigs, dressed up in christmas styled clothes, sitting around a table. What the shit!!

Pisa
See the tower, then GET THE HELL OUT OF THERE!

Generally as a rule we spend 3 nights in a place, mainly so we have enough time to see the sights and explore the place before we move on. Using this rule we booked 3 nights in Pisa, not knowing that we could see all Pisa had to offer in the first 2 hours of being there.

Pisa is dirty, shitty and the epitome of a tourist trap. The breath of fresh air for the city of Pisa are the grounds that the leaning tower is in. It’s lush and green, the buildings are well looked after and glisten in the mid day sun. The area is calming and charming. But as soon as you step outside of the walls surrounding the grounds the tower is in, it’s back to the shitty city of Pisa.

We have a budget that we are sticking to and Pisa was FUCKING expensive. We were going over our budget by 15 euro a night EACH just staying there and we hadn’t had a sit down meal in like 2 weeks. We were really hungry and there were NO places to get some snacky foods and we could not find a supermarket that was open (once again, lazy fuckin Italians) so we decided to go into this restaurant we found. Not only did they serve us some shitty prosciutto as our Antipasto, they then proceeded to serve us a SHAVING of beef, a SHAVING of chicken and an undercooked weird smelling bit of steak, with nothing else on the plate. Now, normally if I had gotten a shitty meal in a restaurant id either say something, or just write it off as a bad meal. But this was taking the fuckin piss and what was worse, we couldn’t even say anything because they couldn’t even speak any English!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ripped off for your first sit down meal in 2 weeks while you’re on a tight budget, what a PRICK! FUCK YOU PISA!

We then asked the hotel what was the cost if we wanted to leave a day early and they said there was a penalty of 92 euros, which was 20 euros more than we had even paid for the room for a night!!!!! Once again, FUCK YOU PISSAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!

One piece of advice, DAY TRIP from another Italian city to this shit hole just to see the breath of fresh air that is the leaning tower then GET THE FUCK OUT OF THERE!

*wipes the sweat off his forehead*

The Cinque Terre
Walking 5 fishing villages in 1 day

The Cinque Terre is a rugged portion of coast on the Italian Riviera. It is in the Liguria region of Italy, to the west of the city of La Spezia. "The Five Lands" comprises five villages: Monterosso al Mare, Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola, and Riomaggiore. The coastline, the five villages, and the surrounding hillsides are all part of the Cinque Terre National Park and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Yes, I ripped that straight off Wikipedia. ahaha, we decided to stay in Le Spezia and just by total fluke, it was a great choice to make. We rocked up without accommodation and scored accommodation right near the train station in a 2 star hotel for 24 euro a night each or something, which is what our budget can handle so that was dope. Then we just day tripped to The Cinque Terre, which is 30 mins away by train and as it turned out, Le Spezia was a really really nice town to! So that was a bonus!

So we took the train to Manarola, the first of the 5 fishing villages and started epic walk between the villages. I read somewhere that its 12km's from first to last village, but I reckon that’s bullshit hahaha, it felt like a hell of alot more! Alot of it was uphill and STEEP uphill stair climbs, and then it was back down again. It was grueling for some parts and soooooooooo relaxing in other parts, but it was very rewarding. Oh and it was like 30+ degree's to, my singlet ended up being a sponge by the end of it haha

The Cinque Terre for the win!

Novi Sad, Serbia - Exit Festival - 9 to 12 July 2009

Exit Festival
Insane, Insane, Insane

I’m gonna keep this brief, I’m not going to give run down of all day’s events, rather just review the best artists I saw and the insane events I encounted. Mainly Sonja and Suzie coming home at 7am covered from head to toe in mud and losing their minds. ;) haha

I didn’t take many photos as my camera doesn’t take very good night shots and the event basically kicked off every day at 8-9pm, BUT, I did take a shit load of videos of some of the best songs from my favorite artists, so I’m gonna post them up instead! BONER!

Check the end of my blog for Allison's top 10 random quotes from the 4 days of Exit to, its quite the hillarity! :D

Ok, quickly, ill just show you a photo of the apartment we stayed in and our little crew!

Our Apartment! 2 single beds down stairs and a kitchen to my right, then upstairs a double bed, and not enough height to stand haha

From left to right
Suzie, Sonja, Alison & Myself

Also, as a little travelling tip, if your with 2 of more people, dont be suckered into the mentality that Hostels are cheaper, because most the time they arent (unless your in a 10 person dorm or something, which sucks ass cos you have to tip toe around at night and cant fart to much because it annoys people). Just look for apartments and split it between how many people you have, its worked out sweet for us on 3 occasions now, once with a crew of 4 people (Exit Fest) and twice with just me and Suze'dawg It might not be cheaper, but you get the benefits of a bathroom to yourselves, free wi-fi internet sometimes, kitchen facilities n shit. You can also look into 4 person dorms if you have 4 people, that worked pretty sweet in Belgrade!

Lilly Allen
Unexpectedly Awsome

Ok, this I mother flippin wasn’t expecting. I rocked up to Lilly Allen wanting to see what she had to offer the minions waiting to get crunk to Roots Manuva who was after her set and little did I know, she was a dub step head. She was blabbering on about something at one point and mentioned that she wishes she didn’t have to fly straight out because she wanted to see Caspa and Rusko (dub step DJ's) .... And then this happened (watch video, Lilly Allen - Smile, below)

See what i mean! Drum and bass then closes out the track with a dub step outro... and this was only the begining of the evening... (11pm)

Roots Manuva
Witness, the fuckin, fitness!

This is who i was here for! FINALLY some live hip hop, well, more grime / hip hop, but still, i have been itching for some live hip hop since i left home and it was about to be unleashed on me. I should have brought another change of underwear, because mine got messy really quickly...(watch video, Roots Manuva - Its me oh lord, below)

Ahhh yessss! And then this happened..... (watch video Roots Manuva - Buff Nuff & Join The Dots, below)

Yes there was some mari-juana being passed around, but I assure you I do not partake in those insolent mind altering substances! *coughs* ... By this stage it might as well have been raining inside my underwear, because I was in desperate need of a change of pants. This was way to stimulating and we were only like 2-4 tracks into the set... AND THEN HE DROPPED THE FUCKIN BOMB! NOT JUST A BOMB... AN ATOMIC BOMB, A BOMB THAT WOULD BLOW UP A FRICKIN CITY! (Watch, Roots Manuva - Witness the Fitness, below)

Rookie mistake. I DIDNT CHARGE MY CAMERA, THE BATTERY DIED JUST AS THE SONG WAS PEAKING!!! WHAT THE SHITTTTT!!! .... Oh well, I still brocked out for the rest of the song, but, unfortunately, the end of the set was a bit shit. He finished down tempo and even did a down tempo song for the encore... which kinda sucked, he should have saved Witness or Let the Spirit move you for the last track... Oh well, AWSOME SET! BONERRRSSS ALL ROUND!!!

Korn
Once I was a metal head, my shirt was as black as my heart *end riddle*

I pushed my way to a couple of rows from the front for this one. I had been smashing heads in the Arctic Monkeys mosh pit the night before (lame) and was dance battling anyone in my zone during Sub Focus when he was dropping crazy dubstep, so I was prepped and ready for whatever the diehard European Korn fans had to throw at me.... and it was pretty tame really.. (watch, Korn - Intro & ... whatever there first tune is, below)

Ok, good start, but i wasnt sure what kinda set they were gonna drop. Then this happened! (watch, Korn - Blind, below)

Man, fuckin awesome. Definitely one of my favorite Korn tunes of all time. By this stage they had also played a cover of Pink Floyds, Another brick in the wall, which was unexpected, but pretty sweet cos they dropped straight into some turbo heavy tune which brought the house down (unfortunately I don’t have that on film) ... next up was a bagpipe solo hahaha. CHECK IT! (watch, Korn - Bagpipe solo & Some other tune, below)

Sorry about the camera work, I got a little excited. A little later on they covered Queen We Will Rock You and some Metallica song, which were all pretty dope boy fresh... but thats as far as the set went. TOP STUFF KORN! 2 GOLD STARS! LOLZ! <@;)

Moby

Glowstick madness

Moby easily, had the biggest crowd so far, it was SO packed when we got there that we couldn’t even be fucked pushing our way to the front. So the zoom function got a work out! The set was pretty awesome, but because we weren’t in the thick of things in the middle of the crowd or near the front, it was hard to get into it was much as the dude next to us chewing off his face, or the guy to the left that was swaying back and forth with his head facing the sky for the whole set, but none the less, I still raised my lighters up for a few down tempo tunes I really liked. (Watch, Moby - Porcelain, below)

Continuing with the "raise up your lighters" theme, the only other video i recorded of the Moby set was "Why does my heart feel so bad?", which was fuckin awsome! (watch, Moby - Why does my heart feel so bad?, below)

Madness
Old school party tunes!

Madness have made a come back this year releasing another album and a massive worldwide tour, playing big festivals around the world (including Perth) and i was HELLA looking forward to this set! I ended up missing some big tunes because i needed to piss hell bad and the crowd was SO big it took me ages to get out and back in, BUT, i did get some bangers! (watch, Madness - Madness Intro, below)

Sooooo good! After that, they just got better and better slamming down a few more tunes then House of Fun! (watch, Madness - House of fun, below)

After that i made a B-line for the toilets (or the fence, whatever) and then back again, only to be greated by the intro to Baggy Trousers (watch, Madness - Baggy Trousers, below)

I didnt really get much recording after that, mainly from lazyness, but i wanted to save some memory space for Prodigy, only to not get ANY footage because the crowd was SO packed that I just called it quits and bailed to the dance arena to check out what was going on there. LAME! *punches himself in the face*

Anyways, we were travelling around Focha in Bosnia with Sonja and Alison, Suzies friends, and we all came to partayyyyyyy at Exit Festival together (as I said earlier on), which was hippidy hoppin! Alison though had a tendancy to drop mean farts and just blurt out random shit all day long at random intervals which was hella funny, but alot of the time super strange haha. SO prepare yourself forrrrr *drum roll on Suzies skull*

Alison's Top 10 Quotes!!!

10 - talking about brushing teeth before and after going to sleep "my boyfriend wont kiss me in the morning because i have death breath"
09 - on the subject of farting "oh my god Leon, that was gross, now theres pootons in the air"
08 - randomly "come here and give me a kiss Sonja"
07 - talking about porn stars in different countries "she would get shat on like icing on a cake!"
06 - talking about who was showering next "i just got my rocks off in the shower"
05 - talking about porn stars "ive had so many dicks in my mouth"
04 - talking about kitchen towels "they really clean my crack!"
03 - asking if everyones ok with chilli in there dinner "i've got a red hot chilli vagina"
02 - discussion about picking up "i attract more guys when i dont wear deoderant"
01!- randomly "oh my god, i have the itchiest c*nt"

Next stop, Italy! (Well actually, we are already here, it just took me a while to get this up... haha)

Croatia, Croatian Sailing - 27th June to 5th July

Croatian Islands
Sailing, Swimming, Drinking Games

This has got to have been the best part of our trip so far. I can’t even start to explain how relaxing and fun it was. If anyone was to ask me what to do when they went to Europe, without a doubt, id suggest sailing the Croatian islands. I took more photos on this trip than I have anywhere else, but did possibly the least amount of things in the last 8 days than I have for the majority of the trip. All we did was swim, drink, eat and everyone apart from myself had daily naps around 4pm hahaha. But ill explain that all in this blog post.

Split to Omis

Departed Split and started our first day of sailing. So, we basically just grabbed a beer and met all the peepz on our boat and tried to gain street cred by picking on the dweebiest person and making people laugh and think we were ultra awesome. I gathered up the toughest looking guys and started the first gang on the boat and proved my toughness by skulling 2 pints of beer and then burping the national anthem of Bulgaria.

Sooooo, ill start again, with the truth. haha, ok, so we just set sail and the Canadian busabout chick Andrea told us what the hapz was. She was pretty awesome and her job is the best ever. She basically gets paid to tell us what the deal is and where we are going every day, then she just drinks, parties and chills with us. So freakin awesome.

After we got told what we were going to get up to in the next few days, we just sank a few beers and met everyone on the boat. Turns out that half the boat was from Perth, a quarter from Adelaide, and then the rest were made up with 3 girls from Australia that were now living in Nottingham (where I was born), a girl that was born in Nottingham and a couple from Sydney and Melbourne. WEIRD!!!! Not only was it weird most the boat was from Perth, the other quarter lived where I was born!!! WHAT THE FLIPPIN FLIP SIZZLE!

We arrived off the coast of some small islands around 30 minutes from our first stop the island of Omis and had a swim. This was the first taste of the crystal clear waters on the Croatian coast. It’s amazing. I can’t even explain how insane the water is, so warm and clear. I must have spent 50% of the trip jumping off the boat and swimming in the water.

The weather wasn’t the greatest, was pretty overcast but still quite warm. We got informed that the last boat trip that arrived a day before us didn’t go to half the islands because it was too rainy and choppy. ASS! Wasn’t looking good, but we set sail with our fingers crossed that it would pick up, and just to spoil the intensity of my story so far, the weather came in good and we had awesome weather over the 8 days.

That night we also had a pirate party to help us to get to know everyone on the boat. We drank lots of beer and I stabbed one guy with my sword and my parrot shat on his rotting corpse. *sighs* That bit didn’t really happen :(

Omis to Makarska

We strolled around Omis in the morning then set sail around 1pm for the island of Markska.

Every day we have a swim stop, where we just park in a bay somewhere along on the way, or off the coast of a small island and just float around and swim and jump off the boat and generally chill out in the glorious Croatian water.

We eventually arrived in Makarska where we were informed by our delightful tour leader Andrea that we were hitting some cocktails bars and a club that was in a cave that used to be a weapons storage place in the war. BANGIN!

We went out for dinner before we went out and once again the food was awsome. I had fish and it was so good.

So we geared up, put on our make up and get our crunk on with some pre-drinks on the boat. The club ended up being pretty awesome and I don’t really think any of the photos really capture the fact that the entrance to the cave is on a cliff face facing out to the open sea. So when you are in the club getting your freak on, on the dance floor you can look up and look straight out to the open water. Pretty amazing!

The club in the cave! (above)

Makarska to Bol

We set sail around 8am while we were all still asleep, many with hangovers, for Golden horn beach, on the island of... I think Jelsa. We parked about 100m off the beach and a few of us swam across to check it out. Well, turns out that 100m was about 400m and there was a current pushing away from the beach. Now, I can’t swim very well at the best of times, the last time I tried to do some laps at the gym pool in Perth I did about 5 laps and nearly drowned while the 90 year old dude in the lane next to me was lapping my punk ass. It’s tougher than it looks. So combine my lack of swimming ability and the current and the miss calculation of distance, but the time we got to the beach, the swim back was looking like death. hahaha But, ended up being piece of piss. Thank you current! (not the ones you eat, the one in the water that controls the water n stuff. Google it.)

Once we got into the Island of Bol, I headed to the supermarket to pick up some 2litre beers that cost like 4 aussie bucks... You heard correct ladies, none of this Australian 330ml bulll shitttttt, I’m talkin a man sized 2litres. Makes your liver shiver doesnt it!

Me and Suzie stindged out and didn’t go out for dinner that night, so I kicked it on the roof and drank some 2litre beer goodness and Suzie napped it up. There was another boat doing the same route as us and it was full of 14 mates that had met up to do the islands together, they were pretty loose and spent most the time in Speedos or just flat out naked. I know. What the shit. But they invited me over onto the roof of their boat and I ended up drinking with them for about 2-3 hours until I spotted that my posse of pirate hoes were back on my boat. By this time I was half cut and had drank 4litres of beer. Nice! We ended up playing some awesome drinking games, like, Ride the bus, Kings (aka Circle of Death, Fuck You and the Boop game). We called it quits around 2am to save ourselves for the next island, the main party island. Hvar. But ended up being an awesome night and a cheap one!

Bol to Hvar

I ended up hearing the boat stopping around 11am for our swim stop, getting straight into my boardies and throwing myself off the top of the boat before anyone had even realized we had stopped for a swim haha. The islands we had stopped at was directly opposite Hvar and the water was the best yet. Our guide said we should swim into shore and go to this bar which was pretty much the only thing on the island. The swim was a bit of a bitch but the bar was so awesome! Apparently the bar is only open til around 9pm, then it closes and everyone heads to the mainland of Hvar to party in their sister club that opens at like 10pm.

This was the bar we swam up to on the island (above)

Hvar is a bit of a party island, but also a major stop for celebrities cruising around Europe in the summer. Andrea our guide mentioned that sometimes whole clubs are closed to the public because someone like P Diddy, Paris Hilton or Screech from Saved By The Bell was partying there!

We headed out around 11 after having some pre-partying drinks; a few 2litre beers went down a trizzeat. We arrived at a club that was on the dock right near our boat that had a live saxophonist dropping some solo bizness over the top of a live DJ, there was also a bongo technician, technicianing the bongos over the saxophone, it was a mash up of maximum proportions!

At this bar, they also had bar staff that were flaring like crazy. You could go up and ask for a water and they would find some way to throw about 15 glasses around there heads and catch them with their big toe and then drink the water and spray it out there ear into the glass while coughing out the ice cubes or something. It was wild. They also had a fetish for fire and were spitting fire and lighting the bar on fire and lighting bottles on fire and throwing them at each other n shit. It was crazy. They sure know how to give people cheap thrills to stay in a club! In the VIP section outside, there were some hell wannabe celebs to, they had their own photographer who was getting all crazy eyed and taking a ridiculous amount of photos on gay angles, and then there was this groupie chick who was like deep throating an ice cream cone of gelati in this guys face to get him all boned up. It was a pretty entertaining club!! haha

We then went on to this next bar, that was more relaxed, lots of tables and chairs and these tubes of beer you could get put on your table. We were going to get 2 people to a tube and see who could drink that fastest and get totally sloshed, but too many people rocked up with glasses and in the end we only got a glass each. Totally lame.

There were a couple of other clubs that night, but they weren’t as entertaining as the first 2, but served alcohol, so they did the trick.

Hvar to Korcula

The night before Andrea our guide mentioned we weren’t having another swim stop for the trip, to which I rallied my men, we started a mutiny and made the scurvy land lubber walk the plank! Which really means, we all said we can’t live without swim stops and she organized more.

I once again woke up around 11 to the sound of the boat stopping and we were stopping in a really small bay with no beaches or anything, just tree's all the way up to the water’s edge, with another island directly opposite where we had stopped. This water was even warmer and clearer than the last stop. Croatian Islands are seriously the bomb!

We had all been jumping off the boat, but no one seemed to want to go as high as I was going even though I was trying my hardest to encourage people to go higher, so at this stage in the trip I was up to the 4th rung of the boats mast, while most people were only jumping off the roof which was about a metre or so lower than where I was at. But it was still awesome fun jumping off the roof don’t get me wrong! We were playing all sorts of ball sport games involving jumping from a height and doing specky catches n shit, it provided some entertaining stacks and painful slaps on the water haha.

Korcula is the place where Marco Polo was crapped out or something. Even though they can’t confirm that, they just pretend that he was born there to get tourists and every shop is called Marco Polo. Marco Polo Pizza, Marco Polo Jewelry, Marco Polo Brothel, all sorts of stuff. Apparently Marco Polo Brothel you can sample a woman of every ethnicity from every continent. It’s a potential sex smorgasbord!

We went out that night to a cocktail bar at the top of a turrent on the castle walls, the cocktails were passed to the top of the torrent by a pulley system, as you could only get to the top of the turret by a HELL steep wooden step ladder thing. You would wanna get pissed up there and then attempt to get down!

The turret bar & cocktail pulley system (above)

Korcula to Some Islands I can’t remember

Woke up around 10 or something and paced around the boat until we finally reached our swim stop for the day. It had been raining, so was a little over cast. But we were there to make the most of our second last day of sailing and spent allot of time in the water and I took it 1 rung higher and did the 5th rung of the mast. Which was awesome haha. The rest of the guys also went higher and did the 3rd or 4th rung and we were flipping off the boat and doing all kinds of wack shit. Making the most of it! We also got some awesome photos of most of us making a circle, with the landscape in the background. Was pretty funny!

We arrived at the islands and there wasn’t much there, 1 supermarket and some buildings that still had bullet holes in them from the war in the early 90's which is pretty surreal. We just basically stocked up on booze ready for the final dinner, The Captains Dinner, where we eating a hell big feed and party with the boat staff. The boat staff are a family and were SO nice. The mum, "Mumma" is the cook, The dad, "cappy" is the Captain and the daughter and son, Maria and Peter are deck hands and serve us booze. So it was kinda like a final dinner and thank you night.

After dinner we got as crunk as ever, playing tunes and major drinking games. "The Boop Game" was going off and one dude was hitting his thighs so hard during "Fuck You" that he had bruises on his legs the next day hahaha. It was an awesome final night and we crashed out late.

Some island I can’t remember to Dubrovnik

Had our final swim stop and just swam and floated around like usual. Then arrived in Dubrovnik around mid day.

We caught the bus into town and walked around the top of the Old Town's Walls which protected them in battle during the war. Took some awesome photos, which you can see below.

We then headed off to go Kayaking in the ocean, which was supposed to take 30 mins to walk there, but ended up taking an hour because we got lost. Which sent the females crazy, because it was hot and they were all flipping out haha. Kayaking was awesome and we paddled around this island for 2 hours and saw some naked people at a nudist beach, 2 of which (a male and female) seemed to be getting pretty friendly underneath a towel. Dirty sons of bitches!

Kayaking is pretty heavy on the arms, especially when you’re always drifting slightly to the left and have to correct yourself all the time because your right arms stronger! It was a little frustrating, but we ended up powering it home and were all so knackered from 2 1/2 hours of walking and then 3 hours of paddling!

It was the final night, and we all chilled together and then crashed out early for potentially the greatest sleep of the trip haha

In the morning we said good bye to everyone and then sorted out the next part of our trip, heading to see Sonja in Bosnia and then off to Exit Festival.

The Croatian Islands were amazing, and definitely the best part of our trip so far. I can’t explain how amazing the water and the islands are and how relaxing the last 8 days were.

NEXT IS EXIT FESTIVAL! SO EXCITEDDDDDDD!!!!!!!!!
